Pierce Transit 2012 ballot measure analysis

In 2012, I brought data analytics to The News Tribune’s regional election coverage.

I provided deep dives into campaign finance, breakdowns of voter behavior, and research on candidate backgrounds. Then, after the election, I quickly produced analysis and data visualizations.

One of the bigger projects I worked on coming out of the election was parsing why a ballot measure supporting Pierce Transit came up short. I contributed precinct level analysis of the election results on this and all Pierce County election results. My precinct map (below) for the Pierce Transit ballot measure appeared in the Sunday edition on December 2.

(The TNT’s online archives appear to have been lost in sales of the paper and redesigns of the website since then.)
